Healthfirst updated its Obstetric Billing Guidelines reimbursement policy to incorporate updated national coding standards and New York State (NYS) Medicaid billing guidance for maternity care.
Billing will transition from the historical global obstetrical payment model to a service-level, encounter-based framework. These changes will apply for certain pregnancies beginning June 1, 2026.
